Schlossgut Diel 'Riesling Réserve' Extra Brut
Wine SpectatorThis offers a subtle paraffin note on the nose, but the palate is all about brioche, marzipan and creamed pear flavors. Vanilla and clove elements emerge midpalate, adding to the complexity. Texturally refined and seductive, showing great tension between the acidity and flavors.
ParkerDisgorged in May after 68 months on the lees, the 2012 Riesling Réserve Extra Brut is a beautifully intense and fruity sparkling wine with very fine brioche and nougat aromas and intense but elegant and refined fruit. The finish is fresh and vital, with fine mineral grip and carried from a delicate mousse. This is an excellent new entry into the Diel portfolio.
