   Local orchard fruit exudes a delightful fragrance, further embellished by some fresh green aromas from the nearby herb garden. Although I never drank a lot of it, the taste reminds me a little bit of Fernet Branca, with the merest of sweet touches. Far more interesting is the alliance of herbal and mineral components, which tantalises the palate with a stimulating bitter piquancy. Dynamic and vibrant.

   Tasted as a still-cloudy sample in May 2020, the 2019 Pittermännchen Riesling GG is very fine and flinty on the elegant, pure, beautifully balanced and refined nose. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, piquant and juicy Riesling with lush, charming fruit and highly stimulating acidity and mineral grip. This is a highly promising sample and a great Pittermännchen.
