   Smells strong and potent, opulent and really quite ripe and perfumed, the smells of a hot year. Supple and agile, instantly mouthwatering, the acidity contrasting the clearly ripe and quite concentrated fruit making this one of the more plush, and opulent styles in terms of intensity of fruit flavour and subtle spice but also keeping a lean frame with crushed stones and chalkiness. Acidity is also enhancing the tannins giving even more bite and structure. Fun, punchy with pep and juiciness but still powerful, narrowing and focussing towards the slightly strict finish. 3.4-.3.5pH. Soils: heavy clay on limestone. A yield of 47-48hl/ha. Ageing 18 months in 30% new oak. 23ha estate with 16ha under vine and 4-5ha used for this cuvée, the rest for biodiversity.
