L.A.S Vino staat voor Luck, Art & Science VINO! Dit super hip miniproject wordt gerund door Nic Peterkin, zoon van Michael van het befaamde domein Pierro in Margaret River. Ad Bibendum werkt al vele jaren met Pierro, één van de exclusieve parels van Australië waar grote finesse en klasse hand in hand gaan. Nic startte enkele jaren geleden zijn eigen wijnlijn L.A.S. Vino en werd in 2016 door het gerenommeerde vakblad Gourmet Traveller uitgeroepen als ‘Winemaker of the Year’. Hij houdt ervan wijnen te vinifieren die bekoren door hun puur- en echtheid met minimale interventie. Deze jonge uiterst getalenteerde wijnmaker heeft zich in enkele jaren tijd geplaatst aan de top van het mooie Margaret River.

    The Wine Front
    As a rose, this works a treat. It's got a strong mix of both varieties albeit light incharacter from both with a strong soaking of fino/amontillado sherry character over it all.Powerful wine. Lots on. Lemon balm, grilled nuts, sea spray, faint red cherry andcinnamon spices found in bouquet and palate. Rich texture, grippy and refreshing, arollicking ride with scintillating, saline acidity finishing things off long and ultrarefreshing. Wicked drink. Love it.

    Parker
    The 2021 Albino PNO is composed of 90% Chardonnay and just 10% Pinot Noir, all fermented wild in barrel (full malolactic fermentation) and blended prior to bottling. This has a very pretty nose of strawberries, white pepper, poached pears, black tea and curls of kelp. The phenolics are a touch bitter through the back palate—akin to almond skin—which could be a feature of the cool season that birthed it. There is blackberry and pink peppercorn and all manner of attractive red and pink things in here, but there is no getting away from the lovely phenolics that course through this wine. Perhaps a touch finer, more slippery than the 2020 that preceded it, but no surprise given the vintage conditions of each. Still quiet for now. A wine of shape and poise.
