The 95 Block sub-section of our Estate vineyard is located west of the cellars and is planted with Reynell Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. These vines (planted in 1995) are original cuttings from Bordeaux, brought to Coonawarra before they were lost to France during the Phylloxera epidemic in the late 1800's.The 95 Block also has four rows of Petit Verdot, which was harvested and co-fermented with the Cabernet Sauvignon following the exceptional 2012 vintage. Maturation took place in the finest French oak barriques for twenty-one months before bottling in March 2014.

Sweet with oak but beautifully structured and fruited. A long life awaits. A mix of blackcurrant and redcurrant streams through a forest of cedar wood, tobacco leaf and milk chocolate. Theres a whiff of hedonism to this, a spirit of seduction.

Oak is certainly a big player in this wine but so too is both fruit and tannin. If you dont like oak flavours and textures to be in any way obvious than you best steer clear of this wine; if you dont mind a slink of oak, forge ahead. Its creamy (in a coconut kind of way), chocolatey and loaded with cedarwood, though all this is attached to a river of blackcurrant and redcurrant, tobacco-and-mint-leaf characters then rounding out the picture. Tannin is ultra fine and seamlessly integrated. The quality is clear, and so too the style. Its big, obvious and seductive, and while it has a long future ahead, it can most definitely be enjoyed now

Deep, dense purple red colour; concentrated herbal and essency black fruit aromas, some dried banana oaky notes. The wine is fleshy and deep, with abundant powdery tannins. Good concentration of fruit and energy. A long-term keeper. Very good.
