Neudorf 'Moutere Vineyard' Pinot Noir
ParkerPale to medium ruby-purple colored, the 2012 Moutere Pinot Noir has around 25% new oak maturation and offers lovely earthy / loamy notes over a core of black raspberries and cranberries with hints of moss and fungi. Medium-bodied, it is packed with intense red berry and earth flavors supported by firm, fine tannins and a crisp acid frame, finishing long and mineral laced.
Bob CampbellRich and concentrated wine with layers of flavours including dark cherry, berry, spice/anise and oak. An impressive wine with depth and complexity that needs a few years to reveal its full potential. quite firm tannins lock in flavour at this stage but will melt away with bottle age to reveal th full extent of this marvellous wine.
Tim AtkinConsistently among the top three Pinots in Nelson, the Finns' best cuve comes from the famous Moutere clays and tends to be quite a structured red, showing more tannin than many Kiwi Pinots, as well as backbone and acidity. It's a thinking person's Pinot that needs food to show at its best. Ambitious, cherrystone, pomegranate and raspberry fruit with a firm finish. 93/100
