   The rosé 2022 Gran Caus Rosat is darker than many reds nowadays and feels more like a light red than a rosé, as far removed as possible from the pale Provençal rosés. It was produced with Merlot grapes, but the varietal character doesn't seem to have marked the wine, whose palate is more about rocks and limestone than fruit of any kind. The nose is eminently Mediterranean with notes of aromatic herbs and flowers. This is a serious, dry and gastronomical rosé that transcends the category (and the price). It's not shy at 13.5% alcohol, while it keeps the freshness with a pH of 3.16. It should develop in bottle. 16,000 bottles produced. It was bottled unoaked in April 2023.
